OKLAHOMA COMMUNITY ANNOUNCES CALL FOR BOARD NOMINEES
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma Community Credit Union is accepting applications for board of director nominees until Monday, December 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. The credit union has one seat up for election at their next annual meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Current board member, Renee Smith, is the incumbent director for the expiring term and intends to seek reelection. Smith is completing her third term as a board member and currently holds the office of treasurer and represents the board on the Finance and Assets & Liabilities Committees.
Individuals interested in applying to be a director can visit the credit union’s website at okcommunitycu.com or any Oklahoma Community branch to obtain an application. Applications are to be turned in to Oklahoma Community President/CEO Daniel Thrasher, and then reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Colby Cagle, Lyle Eastman and Wilma Wehr will serve on the Nominating Committee and are responsible for ensuring that there are sufficient nominees for the open seat. If there are more than one nomination, an election will occur at the annual meeting.
Oklahoma Community board members serve on a volunteer basis for 3-year terms, and do not receive compensation for representing the membership. Their primary duties include hiring and managing the President/CEO, providing strategic guidance, setting the annual budget, and providing oversight of the membership’s resources.
To be qualified to serve as a director, individuals must be 18 years of age, be a member in good standings as described in the credit union bylaws, successfully pass criminal and credit background requirements including not have pled guilty or have been convicted of any criminal offense involving dishonesty or a breach of trust, and have experience in an aspect of finance and/or leadership dynamics.
