Oklahoma Community Credit Union is seeking interested Members who would like to serve their credit union as a member of the Supervisory Committee or a new Ambassadors program.
With Supervisory Committee Member, Jacob Amburn’s pending election to the Board of Directors, the credit union has one opening on the Supervisory Committee. The Supervisory Committee is a group of Members appointed by the Board of Directors to oversee the credit union’s financial operations and ensure proper safeguarding of our membership assets by monitoring the management and board’s adherence to regulations. A primary responsibility is hiring an auditor and ensuring a supervisory audit takes place annually and reporting those results to the Board of Directors.
Christopher Warde, John Anderson, Jim Rutledge and Billie Blackburn currently make up the Supervisory Committee. The Supervisory Committee typically meets the Wednesday before the third Thursday of each month at noon at the Credit Union located at 311 E. McElroy Rd., Stillwater, OK.
Ambassadors is a new program offered by the credit union to help further engage our membership with the credit union and prepare members to potentially serve on the OK Community Cares Committee, Supervisory Committee or Board of Directors in the future. Ambassadors will go through a two-year program, meeting 2-3 times a year, to learn more about credit unions and the financial services industry.
To serve on the Supervisory Committee, or be selected as an Ambassador, you must be a Member in good standing as defined by the bylaws of the credit union. This includes being the primary owner of a Share Account (savings) with a balance of at least $5.00. All directors, committee members and ambassadors of the credit union serve as volunteers with no compensation for their service.
Members interested in being considered for either the open spot on the Supervisory Committee or one of the three new Ambassador positions should complete a Volunteer Application form by Friday, February 28, 2025. Applications can be returned to any credit union location or emailed to dthrasher@okcommunitycu.com. Applications will be accumulated by the credit union President/CEO and distributed to the Board of Directors for review.
