Ceili Care, Inc recently received a $500 grant from OK Community Cares grant to enhance the children’s play area in the Ceili Store, their open choice grocery store in Southwest Oklahoma City.
“Ceili (KAY-lee) Store is an open choice, referral-based grocery store for families experiencing food insecurity,” said Marti Duggan, store director. “It was started and is supported by the United Methodist Church in Oklahoma, including Ceili Community. We are reaching new families weekly to continue our mission to be the hands and feet of God.”
The Ceili Store opened in 2024 and averages over 400 shoppers each month. The goal of the store is to feel like a real grocery store and offer choices for shoppers while providing an area for children to play while they wait for their parents.
