The National Kidney Foundation serving Oklahoma was recently presented a $1,000 grant for community outreach programs to raise awareness of kidney health and educate people how to prevent Chronic Kidney Disease.
“We are so thankful to the Oklahoma Community Credit Union for selecting the National Kidney Foundation serving Oklahoma as part of their OK Community Cares Grant,” said Cara McKinney, Executive Director Oklahoma. “There are over 46,000 Oklahomans who are currently living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). With this grant, we will be able to provide kidney heath education to those who are at risk.”
The National Kidney Foundation’s community outreach programs educate attendees about kidney health, risk factors for kidney disease and how to protect your kidneys. Attendees will also learn how to make personal lifestyle changes to lower risk and will receive a kidney friendly cookbook.
