Richmond Elementary receives OK Community Cares grant

Dawn Schrock, Richmond Elementary kindergarten teacher, received an OK Community Cares grant to purchase a Sphero indi Education Robot Class Pack.

Sphero indi is a learning robot used to teach kids computational thinking and problem-solving skills through STEAM activities. Sphero indi offers teachers creative ways to teach lessons covering several subjects including math, language arts, science and social studies.

The grant will allow Richmond Elementary kindergarten classes experience a fun way to learn and develop social skills through collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

“I am extremely appreciative of the OK Community Cares grant,” said Dawn Schrock, Richmond Elementary kindergarten teacher. “It will provide my kindergarten class with beneficial STEAM opportunities. I want to provide them with STEAM activities that cultivate their imagination, creativity, and critical thinking as young students.”
