Stillwater Junior High School (SJHS) Robotics was recently awarded a $1,533.50 OK Community Cares grant to purchase brand new Vex VRC pneumatic sets.
The purchase of the pneumatic sets will help the five SJHS teams be equipped to compete at state and national levels. With the help of the grant, students will gain experience working with cutting-edge technology and prepare them for future careers in technology-related fields.
The SJHS Robotics teams have a goal of qualifying for state and world championships. The kits will give them the ability to enhance skills like controlling robotic movements and executing complex game strategies.
“These kits will encourage innovation, creativity and collaboration among our students, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills,” said Rebecca Palmatary, SJHS Robotics coach. “Thus allowing them to continue to be competitive at both the state and national levels.”
